Tracey Power, Managing Director


Tracey Power worked as a manager in NHS mental health and learning disability services in south-east London for more than 30 years.

She has worked in operational roles, and also helped to develop both innovative mental health services and organisational structures. Throughout her career, she has worked in collaboration with service users.

A former World Health Organisation advisor, she has been a visiting research associate at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, since 2008 and was involved in the development and launch of Maudsley International. She has been managing director since 2012.

Jonathan Rolfe, Director of Business Strategy and Operations

Jonathan Rolfe has more than 14 years of international business experience in strategic roles within both the public and private sectors.

He held senior positions at Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks and was Head of Business Development and Productivity at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

He runs a management consultancy business, Acies Solutions, and provided support to Maudsley International before joining the operational team at the end of 2013.

His expertise is augmented by an MBA in International Business from Birmingham Business School and a PMI PMP (Project Management Institute Project Management Professional) designation.

Nick Bouras, Joint Programme Director

Nick Bouras is a professor emeritus of psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, and an honorary consultant psychiatrist at South London and Maudlsey NHS Foundation Trust.

He is one of the world’s foremost researchers in the field of learning disabilities and mental health. He worked for more than two decades developing new community-based multi-disciplinary services in south London to meet the mental health needs of people with learning disabilities who had been resettled after long-stay institutions in England were closed in the 1980s.

Professor Bouras also led the development of the specialist Estia Centre that brings together clinical services for people with learning disabilities and mental health problems, research, and a programme of training and education for both support workers and mental health professionals in the UK and in other countries. He was director at the Estia Centre from1999 to 2008.

He is a former chair of the World Psychiatric Association’s Section of the Psychiatry of Intellectual Disability; a former vice-president of the European Association of Mental Health in Developmental Disability; and former vice-president of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disability.

Tom Craig, Joint Programme Director

Tom Craig is a psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) and a professor of social psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London. He is a former research and development director at SLaM.

Throughout his career, he has been involved in developing and evaluating community-based mental health services within the UK, including residential alternatives to hospitals, specialised services for homeless people, services for people who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis, and supported employment programmes. He has also helped to develop computer-assisted therapy for auditory hallucinations.

Professor Craig has held a number of advisory roles within the NHS in England, supporting national organisational change. 

He was president of the World Association of Social Psychiatry between 2013 and 2016.

Silvia Davey, Business Support Officer

Silvia Davey joined Maudsley International after completing an MSc in Global Mental Health at King’s College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her first degree was in Biochemistry at Imperial College London.

She has a particular interest in the mental health of immigrants and mental health and stigma.

Charlotte Burford, Business Analyst

Charlotte Burford completed her undergraduate studies in Physiology, Development and Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge and is currently undertaking a four-year graduate medicine course at King’s College London. She works for Maudsley International one day a week: she originally joined the operational team on the King’s Access to the Professions Scholarship Scheme whilst undertaking an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London.
